THE PENTAGRAM

The Pentagram is a popular symbol in Witchcraft and Wicca, and is often used in invoking the 5 elements.  Each Pentagram medallion is engraved clockwise (deosil) to allow the Pentagram to be used for invocation.  AIn many pagan religions, a star with the point at the top symbolizes celestial or “Star energy”, whereas one with the point at the bottom symbolizes material or “Earth energy”.  Some have mistaken the pentagram, especially when depicted with the point at the bottom and two points at the top, as a symbol of Satanism.  Some modern artwork, such as that found in Dungeons and Dragons RPGs, as well as popular TV shows from the 1970’s, depicted magicians summoning demons from a pentagram drawn on the floor.  This type of Pentagram is referring to the Pentagram of Solomon, containing the ancient names of God, a powerful symbol traditionally used to protect a conjurer from demons summoned during sorcerous workings.  Another popular Pentagram is the Planetary Pentagram, used by advanced ritualists in specific Star Energy workings.

THE AMULET OF THE WATCHTOWERS

The Amulet of the Watchtowers, shown above in small silver

The Amulet of the Watchtowers depicts the arcane symbols of the 4 elements, or 4 Watchtowers, in their corresponding directions: Earth-North, Air-East, Fire-South and Water-West.  The arcane symbol for Spirit is placed in the middle.  This amulet is worn for protection, and as an aid in invoking and balancing the 5 elements.
